SILENT

Let the world be in sleep
And the society be drowse-keep
All fellow-beings be indolent
All fellow-citizens be indifferent
To the havoc in all spheres
To the gale in all corners
All are deliberately silent
And no words for comment
Law is deaf; order is blind
Truth is dumb; Dharma is blunt
God in the shrine appears tight-lipped
For the evils in the bud to be nipped
Virtues are enslaved in money bower
Values are bartered to false power
Hearts are too wide; minds too broad
With glooms to trap gleams for fraud
With narrow confines and restrictions
With evil designs and ambitions
The way is full of obstacles
The road is with all hurdles
Where innocents are sandwiches
And slaves to slavish wishes
With unseen shackles
With hidden manacles
Always I am in vehement protest
With my words I am not silent.
I can never be silent and indifferent
To the ways insolent and turbulent
For my sole role is to struggle alone
With one or all join me on their own.

ORACLE

Man, in quest of sole goal today
Turns this very holy land hay
Deliberately learns to be different
In rock-like silence and indifferent
To rampant atrocities and tortures;
Tears and fears for money-glitters
He grows and grows so avarice
So prejudiced to be an accomplice
Waits he so eagerly for a chance
And avails himself of it, per chance
Appears to be most corruption-free
With his hues deception-free
Poses a Gandhi in the free times
And sings Anna Hazare's chimes
For his hunger and his thirst
He allows none to know his lust
In the guise of sensitive glances
He seizes the others due chances
The crocodile knows his tears
The chameleon detects his colors
I am God in temple, kept aloof
Tongue-tied to be talk-proof
My constant search from heaven
To see him not in the ways forbidden
Again not to fall victims to the Satans
As all for all, not to grow gluttons
Not to see gaps, not to create rifts
Not to cause ripples are his real gifts
This is my oracle echoed to the human
To be humanistic and humanitarian

EARTH AND ITS OFFSPRING

I am ever confident
Of your stature, a dot mien
Of your status, menial and mean
A particle, a dismal miniature
You are down to earth a parasite
The most disobedient for God to cite
You are oblivious of your origin
As a temporary guest in my inn
An egg to mock at its mother hen
A seed to question to a huge tree
This all is the allegation of the earth
For the response of its offspring:

What an unpleasant surprise!
I am small but my story is not
My life is short but it means a lot
I am mien but not mean and menial
For pride, you own a wide kingdom
You are soil that lacks in wisdom
I fly in the welkin; swim in the ocean
Broadcast news and telecast views
I have wonders in my lands
I have splendors in my palms
I have powers in my hands
I have no desires for your alms
I am not high but kiss the stars
From my highest parlors
Of my magnificent mansion
All know it; I need not mention
I can rock you by my wiry atom
At will, from top to bottom.
