Buddha, in the sitting posture
In the meditative stature
The gesture ignites all austerities
Keeps away all life-absurdities
Sheds light for sin-atonement
Spreads the light of enlightenment
Soothes with the voices of silence
Heard from his heart of benevolence
Lays the paths of devotion
To lead to bliss in perfection
Infinite thoughts in echo
Multiple charms in glow
All poise and peace in the face
Always to propel bliss in all ways
Ways to release from worldly bondage
From death, disease and old age
That deeply moved his young heart
Sought the path of salvation on his part
Young prince, sure to reign
As a sole sovereign to shine
Forsook his rightful kingdom
For gaining insightful wisdom
All led him to Gaya, to the Bodhi tree
Glancing the tree calmly free
Beneath it, 'Maha Bodhi' sat he in prayer
For an eternal solution as a seeker
For seven weeks in deep meditation
Peace and positivity in assimilation
Buddham Sharanam Gacchami now as ever
Echoes in and around the place.
