The Mind Is the Fountain

The mind is the fountain
Perennial source of wants to spurt
They leap like rising tides
They race like galloping horses,
I fly on the wings of wants
Like butterflies and fireflies
In my sport and game of life.
I do not know where to fulfil
My wants in the realm of facts
Some say wants are sure to rise
But they are shattered in time
That is indeed life chime
Some say that one should have luck
Where is that luck to be found?
Is the luck on earth for man’s mirth?
How does it shine in its reign?
Some say it is in the rainbow colours
For luck I launch a wide search
Luckily, I find the rainbow in the sky
I am not a child to climb it
Nor am a mountaineer to ascend it.
Some say luck paces than the hare
I pace much faster and speedier
It is not found at that speed.
Some say luck moves like tortoise
I move so but I do not find it.
Some say they are fulfilled at will
By sheer means of hard work
I do that in devotion
With all expectation

Single in the Field

I listened to her in field
Singing a song outpouring
Her profound feelings
Risen from her sensitive heart
For the bloodshed and the tears
Of victims of rapes and killings
Violence in the land of peace
Unrest in the arena of equanimity
For the rogues in cow’s face
For brutes in sheep’s clothes
Villains in the false guise
Caring to smile all the while
She heard or seen on the television
The incidents of suffering,
Hating the race of man to be human
With humanistic principles
I love a man with no hypocrisy
Whom I marry
To be his mate lifelong
Where is he?
Where should I find him
In the love of mankind
In the welfare of man’s race?
Her question strikes my heart
For I found my life mate
I love her in the heart of my heart
To journey all the miles
My heart in its lovely parley
She is comely
She will be my life mate.

‘Love’, the Voice to Unite All

Between man and man
A clash is inhuman
Between a nation and other nation
A war is antihuman,
A sign of lovelessness.
Man is born in any nation
For love, life for life sans tears and fears.
Global voices from deep hearts
For human relation and amelioration.
Smiles for miles in man’s sojourn
Hand in hand, arm in arm,
Progress of man in the universe,
The welfare of man’s race,
Love blooms peace and harmony
For the world family
Love transcends barriers and frontiers,
Whereas war is for total devastation
Colossal loss and universal destruction,
We are not *Brontasseurs and *Dinosaurs
For war to meet our end and extinction,
We are insightful species of distinction.
War mongers need transformation,
Not for killing, violence and extermination.
War is not success but defeat for human loss,
Friend and foe alike including the boss.

*Two species fought with each other. After a series of their warfare, they have become
extinct killing each other. Their war ended in the extinction of two species.

Note: The poem got award on International Poets' Day.
